Psychogenic Pain

In some cases the pain may be not physical pain but rather coming from the brain. In patients with psychiatrically or psychological disorders. One of the conditions is called Somatization disorder. The symptoms include pain in four different sides of the body. For example: headache, abdominal, back pain, joint pain, rectal pain, and chest or extremity pain. I had a very interesting case where a 55 year old woman absolutely normal looking and speaking complained pain in several different parts of the body. Every test preformed failed to find any problem but the patient continued pointed at her pain condition where no medication would help her. In this situation knowing about existence of this condition we called a physiatrist and psychologist to evaluate and treat this patient.
