Dr. Boris Abayev, M.D., is one of the few doctors in New York who accepts almost all insurance plans, including Medicaid and all HMO/PPO insurance coverage, except Wellcare.

Same or next day appointments are sometimes available. We were able to help majority of our patients.

We always find time to speak to our patients and explain their medical condition to them in detail. We also typically discuss what we are planning to treat. We are conveniently located upstairs from the Subway at 63rd Drive, Rego Park, Queens Local Subway station

Dr. Abayev, has completed a fellowship training program at one of the most prestigious universities in the USA - New York University School of Medicine in Musculoskeletal Medicine, Pain Management, EMG, and Research.

He is an author of 28 research publications, a recipient of the Recognition Award from the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, one of the winners of the world research papers’ competition, a recipient of Special Commendation and Certificate of Appreciation from the NY Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, elected and served as an Editor-in-Chief of the Proceedings at New York Society of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.

He is affiliated with New York Hospital, Queens (Cornell University Weill Medical College) and Queens Hospital Center (Mount Sinai School of Medicine of New York University).

  • Consume fewer calories - exercise pushing away from the table
  • Eat a variety of foods in moderate amounts
  • Eat lots of vegetables
  • Satisfy hunger and to stay energized

Always Start Your Day with Exercise

  • Cycling
  • Jogging
  • Swimming
  • Walking
  • Different exercises for a minimum of one hour daily
  • Follow with a warm shower and have a light breakfast
  • Eat more grains
  • Green leafy vegetables
  • Control portions
  • Cut down on coffee and chocolate or better yet stay caffeine free

  • Cut down on spicy food, salty, marinated, smoked and processed foods
  • Cut down on cakes, cookies, candies -- eat more grains and leafy vegetables
  • Eat fresh food instead of canned or processed food
  • Use freshly cooked meats, fish and chicken
  • Eat lots of spring beans, fresh green peas; even put them in salads with lettuce, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar
  • Eat milk products
  • Eat eggs as a good source of protein
  • Almonds are also perfect sources of protein
  • Use vegetable oils instead of animal fat
  • Drink water instead of sodas, coffee, ice tea or other caffeinated drinks
  • Avoid junk food or outside food (cook for your self using healthy ingredients)
  • Try a healthy diet for a couple of weeks and see how you feel, then you make your own decision to what diet to follow
